Naomi R - Staffordshire

A new Braille writer for Naomi.....

Naomi is almost 4 years old and has Down's Syndrome. Sadly when she was 6 months old she became profoundly ill from septicaemia, and went into a coma. Naomi recovered against all the odds, and still has a high level of understanding however, the illness had left her blind. Naomi has made a remarkable adjustment to this disability. Her devoted Mum and Dad wanted to maximise her reading and writing skills so that she will eventually be able to read and type Braille for herself. Naomi has a special teacher who oversees her education at Nursery School and Naomi's parents wanted to be able to extend that teaching at home. Now that Lifeline 4 Kids have bought a Braille writer for her it will be far easier for Mum and Dad to prepare work and build up Naomis's skills much faster.

Naomi's parents wrote to us saying:-

"Many thanks for purchasing the Brailler for Naomi, it will be very useful, we can now continue to help her to learn to read Braille at home by preparing work for her on the machine. We could not have afforded to buy one, it is wonderful to have the charity step in and buy it for her".

Receiving letters like this really make our work so worthwhile...... Good luck Naomi!
