WE ARE UNABLE TO SEND AN APPLICATION FORM WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
Applications for help for an individual child should indicate specific requirements and cost, brief factual information including the child's name, date of birth and health condition and family name, address and contact telephone number. This should initially be made by email or post. We also accept applications from schools or organisations requiring specialist items for the benefit of special needs children. The age group of children we support is from birth to 18 years old.
Each request will be acknowledged and provided it meets our criteria, an application form will be sent by email or by post. The form contains questions relating to the child/children's medical condition and requires backup information from health professionals together with a financial statement of the applicant/organisation.
After we receive the completed application form the appeal will be personally investigated by one of our members.
The majority of appeals are discussed and decided upon at our monthly meetings. If approved, a maximum sum is allocated and we take full responsibility for the purchase and safe delivery of the approved item.
Emergency and welfare appeals where possible, are dealt with immediately after receiving a completed application form. Our decision to help can be made within days if vital. We do try our best to deal with emergency appeals as quickly and efficiently as possible, but please remember, we work on an entirely voluntary basis and we have no paid staff. That way we can spend more on the children we have pledged to help.
