Marlborough School, Sidcup, Kent

Appeal for voice synthesizers.
Marlborough School, Sidcup, Kent is a special needs school with 85 pupils aged 11-19 all with severe learning difficulties. Their request was specifically for the most vulnerable group, being those with profound and multiple disabilities. These children cannot walk or talk, are incontinent most having visual impairment and epilepsy. The school applied to us to fund a range of voice synthesizers to give these most disabled children the chance to talk for the first time, as sadly the school has no statutory funding to buy such vital equipment. The school managed to raise the funds to buy two synthesizers, but need more. We felt that the children at Marlborough school deserve all the help they can get and had no hesitation in funding the cost of an additional three voice synthesizers at a cost of just over £7,000. All our good wishes go to the staff and children of this excellent school. Keep up the good work!
