Patrick A - Hampshire

At last - mobility for Patrick

When we received the letter of support from Patrick's Paediatric Physiotherapist we knew that we had to help. 16-year-old Patrick suffers with Cerebral Palsy. He has just undergone surgery on both his feet for the fourth time and is unable to walk unaided. He was described as a very social, bright, fun-loving boy with an inquisitive nature and very keen to be actively involved in outdoor pursuits. A special tricycle would offer him a chance to join his family and friends with this activity. Lifeline 4 Kids wanted to give him the chance to have a positive impact on his quality of life and to give Patrick the much needed independence which is so crucial at this stage of his life.

With help towards the cost from his parents we purchased a special trike for Patrick. His delighted parents wrote to us...

"We collected the tricycle yesterday. It is a wonderful machine! We took it home and immediately set off on our first ride. As you know Patrick had an operation on his feet recently and only had the plaster casts removed last Friday. We lifted him into the saddle, turned on the power and he was away!! It was wonderful to see him mobile again and the smile on his face said it all! We are looking forward to many happy outings together. Once again, please accept our heartfelt thanks to you for giving Patrick this most generous help. We can already see how much this means to him. It is amazing how he has taken to it, especially considering that he is still unable to walk other than a few paces supported by someone. To see Patrick happy and smiling enjoying the bike makes us so happy too, so again thank you. We will certainly sing the praises of Lifeline 4 Kids whenever the opportunity comes up."

It's our pleasure Patrick. Your picture makes us all at Lifeline 4 Kids smile too.
