Mapledown School, London NW2

Major appeal for specialised equipment including sensory garden and playground equipment.
Mapledown School in Cricklewood, London is a specialist school with 61 children aged 11-19 with severe and profound disabilities. Some children have a maximum ability of a 7-year old, some have 5-6 year old ability and there are a range of very complex non verbal children. There are 50 dedicated members of staff. Originally there were 8 classrooms and 2 extra ones have recently been built for an additional intake of 15 children. We are proud to have been supporting Mapledown since 2009 with various needs including a hoisting gantry system to enable children to stand and walk, two interactive whiteboard systems, general outside playground equipment for various areas in the school grounds and a sensory garden. We are delighted that the significant sum we allocated has helped improve the quality of life of the very special children of Mapledown School.
