Save a Child's Heart

In our quest to build cultural bridges in this volatile part of the world we are proud to have assisted with this important project helping to save the lives of children from throughout the world........

Save a Child's Heart comprises a team of some 70 surgeons, cardiologists, physicians, technicians and nurses at the Woolfson Medical Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel. This team are Jewish, Christian and Muslim all working together for one common cause.....to save the lives of children.

Since 1995, Save a Child's Heart has treated more than 2,400 children suffering from congenital and rheumatic heart disease aging from infancy to 18 years from the "four corners of the Earth"- 40 countries where adequate medical care is unavailable.

40% of the children who have undergone cardiac surgery are from Africa; 49% are from the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, Iraq and Morocco; 4% are from Eastern Europe and the Americas and 7% are from Asia. At any given moment there are thousands of children suffering from heart disease around the world who can be treated by this wonderful Team in Israel without charge and regardless of race, colour or creed. All of the treatment and convalescence is funded by voluntary donations.

A new Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new Children's Home have been built with worldwide donations but funds available did not stretch to the purchase of some of the most essential pieces of lifesaving equipment for these children.

Lifeline 4 Kids has always been aware of truly wonderful work carried out at the Woolfson Medical Centre and when we were approached for assistance with this Appeal we felt privileged to be a part of a project where so many children could be helped. We purchased for them a Bank of Syringe Infusion Pumps used to administer continuous intravenous doses of medication to children recovering from open heart surgery, together with a Gateway Workstation which co-ordinates the software.

We are delighted to be informed that "It has already being put to good use and Dr Sion Houri, Intensive Care Specialist expressed his delight with the equipment and has passed on his gratitude"

It is us who are grateful for having had an opportunity to participate in the wonderful lifesaving work.....
