14 year old Carl McVeigh from Belfast suffers from quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Carl's is a passionate Manchester United supporter and Powerchair football is the only social activity he gets to do that he really enjoys. Carl has been playing in the AIPF (Association of Irish Powerchair Football) league for the last few years however, in order to participate fully Carl needed his very own football Powerchair. Lifeline 4 Kids had no hesitation in helping towards the funding so Carl could achieve his dream and we were absolutely delighted to hear the wonderful news from Carl's Mum, which was also featured in the Belfast Press. We would be delighted if you featured Carl in one of your stories, as he wouldn't be where he is now without the support of Lifeline 4 kids.
He has been playing in the AIPF league for the last few years. This year they won the Charity Shield and also came 2nd in the league. Carl was the 2nd top goal scorer in the league.
The AIPF were looking 6 players to be selected for the Under 16 Ireland team to compete in the upcoming FIPFA International Trophy October 30th in Paris.
The players that were selected at this level were based on their performances in the league and Cup competitions over the past season. Carl was very lucky to be one of the 6 that were picked. He will receive international cap recognition from the Football Association of Ireland.
We are all so proud of him achieving this and delighted for him. It has made him such a happy lad now he thinks he's Van Persie!!
None of this would have also happened if you hadn't been so kind to fund for Carl to get his chair. Many thanks again.
Kind regards, Karen
GOOD LUCK CARL - WE'RE ALL BEHIND YOU AND THE TEAM!
